'96 4L 5MT - AC fan works but no cold air
When I turn the AC on, the fan works but there's no cold air. The AC fuse is good. Could there be an issue other than a broken compressor?
Thanks for your help!
Thanks for your help!
Could be the Blend door if AC seems to be working otherwise, compressor is not cycling off and on quickly
1995 and up Rangers use an Electric Blend door, this door is in the cab, it is operated by the TEMP **** on the climate control, the door routes air from the fan THRU the Heater core(HOT), or around the heater core(COLD)
Blend door actuator(motor) was a common failure on all 1995 and up Fords
To see if Actuator is working, after engine is warmed up and running, turn AC off and fan on, turn the TEMP **** to HOT, air should get hot, then turn to cold, air should get colder, if that doesn't happen then blend door is not moving
Google: Ford Ranger Blend door
There will be LOTS of videos and articles to look over
If Temp **** does work, air gets hot and then cooler, then blend door is working and you will need to service the AC system
