Icon4 99 2.5 No start - need assistance

99 XLT 2.5L, just turned 100K.

Left for work this morning and forgot somethign at the house. Got back to the house and turned truck off.

Went to leave again and it would not start. Battery has 13V, posts and terminals are clean. If you turn the ignition switch to ACC or between run and start, it turns on all the accessories. If you try to start it, dash lights go out and it wont start.

Ignition switch?
How hard is this to change?
Can I get one from Autozone/Advance Auto and keep my current key?

well, if the ignition is switched on and you wiggle the cylinder, dash lights and accessories come on and off.

Your key cylinder has play if you try to wiggle it up and down? That's not good.

2. I bought and replaced the ignition switch under the column and it did not cure the problem.

11PM update (working on truck in the rain in the street)

1) replaced ignition switch....not it
2) replaced tumbler assembly............not it
3) accessories are on with ignition on the "on" position, but go out when you hit the brake.

I am leaning towards a bad ground now. Where are the grounds at on a 99 2.5L? (it is dark out and hard to see)
