wiper blade clip
When I bought my '88 ranger, the wipers were working, seems they were tied together at the motor and arms w/ plastic twist ties! (I didn't pay much for it - so ...). But finding and attaching the clip that is supposed to be there is impossible. There is the motor - which fits throught the wall, then the blade arms then a clip. A tiny little clip that Ford won't sell without the entire motor. I don't need the motor. I need the clip! Does anyone know what I'm talking about and possibly a part number? I've tried Napa, etc. but they keep giving me other stuff to try - totally unrelated and not working out. Once I get the clip - I'd like to know the trick to attaching it. I had one, and it is nearly impossible to reach the wiper arms - motor to get the dag on thing on! Needless to say - the one clip got dropped and fell into the motor somewhere and has eluded me ever since. HELP! Does anyone know where I can find this clip, a part number, and the easiest way to attach it once I get it? I feel like a contortionist (sp) climbing around in there
Haha yea I feel your pain, just dealt with the exact same thing a couple of weeks ago. I didn't try and buy a new one, I went to a junkyard and had my fun there, boy did that suck. When I finally got a new one, It still took a while to install. Take a real good look at the motor arm, the clip only goes on one way, and the other helpful tip is don't bolt the motor down, and stop the motor where the wiper arm blades would be sticking up. That lowers the arm and makes it easier to reach your hand in there. Good Luck, I know its not any fun, but hopefully you'll get it.
BTW a clip might come with a new wiper motor.
