Air coming out of wrong vents?

Ok,

Kind of a wierd problem here. When I turn the air on for the ac or heat, it is coming out of the wrong vents, or with emphasis in the wrong vents. When I turn the ac on, it blasts out of the windshield vents and barely comes out at all from the center vents.

I noticed this after my idler pulley snapped off and I replaced that. Not sure if it's related though.

Is this vacuum related? I can hear a vacuum leak around my transmission area

Thanks,

Tim

Its your blend door, It could be stuck or broke.
You can fix it a few ways.
You can either remove the dash, take apart the heater core box, and fix the door.

or, you can remove the glove box, cut a hole in the center of the heater core and fix the door.

I recommend the first option.

Well,

Just solved that problem quickly haha. Looked around under the truck, and I guess when the idler pulley came off it pulled a vacuum line out of that round black thing (I'm assuming it's the vacuum canister?). That solved my air issue. I am however still hearing a quiet whistle still.

Could be a small tear in the vacuum line.

That could be a strong possibility. If it was removed from its location how I think it was (via idler pulley flying off), it could've easily been torn. I'll do my best to inspect it. Seems like it might be pretty awkward to get in there and replace the line. I haven't figured out where the other end of it tucks into.

Thanks,

Tim

Blend door controls temperature it does not direct airflow.

The vacuum supply runs from the manifold to the inner fender to the vacuum reservoir then another line runs to just below the ac stuff to the control ****.

Might take some fishing to find the leak, I would just get a new rubber hose.
