airbag light on
airbag light on
i was wondering if anybody ever had a problem with the airbag light flashing and staying on and then flashing again. it did this like a few months ago and then went away. now its back and i was wondering if anybody had any ideas of how to fix it.
also check under the passenger + drivers seat and check those connectors u see make sure they are both plugged in secure they have to do with the airbag system and if they are disconnected or loose that maybe causing the light to flash
i'm not sure of the number of the TSB for this but i could be your problem.
The airbag system is also ran through the seat wiring harnesses as mentioned before. What happens is, the harness was made secured to the body under the carpet below the seats, and when you slide your seat back to far/hard it causes the connectors to become loose/undone, which will bring on your airbag light. This is the only type of work i would even consider doing with the airbags. This is a very dangerous and serious system. If you accidentally set off an air-bag, insurance companies consider your vehicle to be totalled.
Coming from a dealership that was authorized to discharge airbags, i used to watch my dad and the master tech's take them outside when they had to discharge them. It's really cool, but it helps you see what kind of force they have. They would set them on the ground and discharge them with a car battery and the airbag assembly would shoot a good 20 to 50 feet straight up in the air. So be careful when fooling with them.

A few weeks ago my airbag light was doing the same thing. It would be blinking and sometimes stay on for awhile. It did this for a few days then just stopped. I wanted to take my truck to the dealer before my warranty is up but it hasn't done it since. Hope it doesn't come back.
