airbag replacement

airbag replacement

ok i was in an accident with my truck a few weeks ago and my airbags went off i have since then found new air bags and a new module but i have not put them in yet because i am afraid i will do something wrong and they will go off in my face and then i have to bye another set. does any one know the procedure for putting these in and are there any sensors or anything that i need to replace b4 i hook up the new air bags? thanks alot

I would replace the sensors as well just to make sure there not damaged. To replace the air bag and module disconnect the battery first, then replace them.

1999 through 2006 have the crash sensors inside the Restraints Control Module, so installing a new module will take care of those.

2001+ have seat belt pretensioners in addition to the airbags. Depending on the severity of the impact, those may have deployed also.
