Brake\antilock lights come on

91 4.0 4x2 5spd While starting out or driving, hit the brakes, my brake light comes on and after antilock comes on, then go out simultaneously, doesnt happen all the time, brakes work good, I know eventually I will need new brakes, could low brakes set off these lights?

if your brake fluid is extremely low...check your brake fluid...that can cause it

low brakes would trip it. its either fluid leak, low fluid, or electronic issues.

Thanks I didnt think of that, I never had the fluid go that low in any of my trucks to trip the lights, I will check fluid, probably low due to I need brakes soon, I know my 92 F150 is supposed to have some kind of abs system too.

I checked the fluid and it is half way filled, I know the front brakes are stopping the truck, possibly replacing rear brakes will help.
