Brake light switch on a 1988 Ranger

Does anyone know how to replace the brake light switch on a 1988 Ford Ranger? I have not gotten the switch yet so I dont even know what it looks like. Sometimes it does not want to come out of park when you first start it and then you pump the brakes a few times and it works fine. Was told it was the brake light switch that needs to be replaced. Thanks for any comments.

Check this at rockauto.com

It should mount under the dash toward the top of the pedal lever.
