02 HID/housing questions

Hey everyone, I have been using the DDM hi/lo HID kit for a few months now and love the amount of light they put out. At first I had my lights aimed a bit to high and people would flash their brights at me quite often. I lowered my lights a bit and no longer seem to cause a problem with other vehicles. Although now that my lights are a bit lower when i turn my high beams on the light gets brighter, but actually shines at an even shorter distance. I don't think my lights are too low, but is something off here?

Another question is regarding projection housings. I have read around and it seems there are no 02+ ranger projection housings beaming sold. I did come across this one piece and wondered if anyone has tried it out:

It looks nice and would be great to have a projector in my truck without all the fab work of making my own, but im hesitant to drop $150 for something from ebay.

On a similar note are there any reflector housings that are known to work better with HIDs than the stock ones?

I haven't seen a housing like that before. Seems like it would work well with your HID's.

Someone may have a different opinion though

I think theres a couple people on here that have the one piece "mexican" design headlight. I plan on getting them with my hids from DDM too.

They are called "Brazilians". I like them. Some even come with Ford logos and part numbers. Some guy was selling a set for like $300 in the classifieds. Defiantly need DOT approved ones though.

(remove the spaces in between ford ranger forum)

Police Interceptor (on R/F), Ranger01 (on FRF) has them

I think they would help in the high-beam sector with HIDs. I just installed a set on my truck with stock housing and at low-beam the lights work just fine. High-beams seem to be splotchy but that makes since since the stock housing is reflective not projective. If I need high beams I just flip on my daylighters.

But from the looks of them, those light housing would seem to do alot better than the stockers for HID high-beams.

funny thing I noticed... those Brazillians don't have a glare shield... My thoughts, Brazil is a lot less strict on those kind of things so those things might cause more glare...

Here's another.

If I went Brazilian over 01+ HIDs w/ 06 Corners I would want them to be of really good quality. And depending on the look you are going for I would skip the Halos and LEDs.

Those look much nicer than the ebay set I posted. Know of any vendors that sell the stock Brazilian set?

Hire banditos to steal you some

Seriously, they'll be like $300 and someone south of the border will have to get them for you
