Brake pads

Brake pads

I was just wondering what brake pads everyone uses and which ones people have had success with. I dont need new brakes now, but I was just looking around at the different brands and stuff, what is the top brand for them?

iv always had good expreriance from speedway auto parts.. napa as well

i always get Motorcraft.......they usually last me between 40,000 to 50,000 and that is with big **** tires on stock brakes....

I like Raybestos Super Stop brakes. They still dust about the same as OEM brakes but they stop a lot better and I get a little more wear life out of them. I had a problem a couple times with the OEM pads of brake fade. It happened once while towing my race car and twice in a panic stop. Since I have switched to the Super Stop pads, I have not had even a hint of brake fade.

I found out it is a good idea to also install Raybestos Super Stop shoes on the rear also to maintain a better front rear brake balance.

Just replaced my front two rotors and brake pads. My truck was squeeking like mad at every stop. SO i bought the semi-metallic pads (around 42 bucks for a set) and bought a set of rotors for about 65 bucks. Now I have absolutely no squeeks and the truck stops on a dime.

I buy Motorcraft pads also.I get about 60,000 miles out of them.I tried Bendix pads and didn't like them.

FOrgot to mention i got them at NAPA autoparts store.

Just a tid bit of info: The ford parts are better than the Motor craft. Worth the money Cause they can be run into the ground. Others usualy end up gettin crappy after the first cut. Dont know why but they do.

hawk hps pads with powerslot rotors, they are amazing, next up is ss lines and explorer rear disks

I'm not starting another thread for this simle question...I'm up in arms in trying to figure out what brand to buy, Raybestos or Bendix? They are going to be ceramic pads. Thanks for the opinions.

Ceramic pads chew up rotors. If low dust and noise are that important then go for it. Not worth it to me though.

i go with the napa semi metallic ones and they work great im getting like 40K to a set maybe more its the third set of brakes at 147K in nyc area

I like the ceramic pads, On my sienna they work amazingly well. The rotors were in perect shape as well. now my ranger, it sucks the rear breaks keep locking. No clue why either.
