Brakes go away

I recently purchased a 2002 Ford Ranger 4x4 with the 4.0. Truck only has 114,000 miles on it. I’ve noticed that when coming to a stop when the truck is almost at a complete stop the break pedal goes down a and it sounds like the ABS is coming on. No matter how hard you push the brake pedal you don’t stop any faster. This only happens when coming to a stop at a red light or stop sign and when the truck is almost at a complete stop and it doesn’t happen everytime. Has anyone else experienced this.....if so how did you fix the problem!!

I'd guess that there's air in the system. Is it using any brake fluid?

Give it a VERY THOROUGH inspection of ALL brake lines from front to back. On the rear axle, everything.

My guess is wheel sensor. Can you get the codes pulled?
