Icon4 burnt harness 94 4.0 2wd 5speed

i need engine bay wiring diagrams. when i put a battery in the truck it turned over one time before what i believe to be a very bad ground drained the battery before i could remove the key from the start position. the harness is completely intact but it obviously got really hot at one time and the oil is runny but not milky so i think the head gasket is still good. i want to get the thing started and see if the truck is a worthy project or not. before i tear the harness apart and start electrical repairs i would prefer the diagrams and cant find any. the damage is limited to (as far as i know) the rubber intake from the MAF to the manifold and any of the harness laying on the front of the engine is crisp. where should i start? id buy a new harness if reasonable but dont know if throwing any money at this right now would be smart without learning more.

can anyone confirm this is the correct harness to replace the current one is the engine bay? or is there a better alternative?

Welcome to the forum

Do you have a library card?

If not get one

Pretty much all public libraries have online access now to AutoMate, you just need a library card number and a PIN, you need to go to library to set up PIN
AutoMate has all the wiring diagrams for almost every vehicle made
You can view them and print the ones you want, or download

But these are diagrams, no locations, or connectors, for that you need a 1994 Ranger EVTM(electrical vacuum troubleshooting manual), Ford made these every year for every model of vehicle and sent them out to Ford dealers as part of the Shop Manual set
You can often find the EVTMs on ebay
They tell you where are the wires are and what color, also all the connector pin outs, very detailed

Must be a 1994 Ranger EVTM, 1993 "might be" OK, 1995 would NOT be OK, totally different wiring starting in 1995

If you see a 1994 Ranger Shop Manual set for sale MAKE SURE the EVTM is included, it often isn't, seller is keeping it or selling it separately

Found one here: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/1994-Ford-Ra...Rcrh06&vxp=mtr

No, it wont

2.3l 4cyl wiring will be different as far as engine, fuel, charging are concerned

For the power distribution, lights, horn, ect in the engine bay...................it may be similar
