Hey guys, anyone out there who just decided to delete their air conditioning? Im asking because im thinking about it. Mine doesnt work anymore, and I dont really find a need for it anyways. Are there major pros and cons to deleting it?

Less money in your pocket when it comes time to trade / sell.

 

Working AC system really helps in humid climates and winter, it dries the air in the cab in all setting except OFF and Vent, summer and winter

i.e. Defrost in the winter has a hard time removing the moisture from windshield without help of AC drying the air before it hits the window, the dry air absorbs the moisture faster
Without AC you have to wait a minute or two for the heater to get warm, the warmer air can absorb more moisture and dry the windshield

But no real reason you can/t remove compressor, condenser, hoses and receiver/drier
Evaporator is inside heater box and no real need to remove it unless you replace heater box with non-AC model
Put caps/tape over the open evaporator fittings after removing connections

You will need a new fan belt, for non-AC version of your year/engine

 

You won't notice much of a difference without the A/C when it comes to "ponies", so if that's your main intention for this, you'll be disappointed.
