A/c Disaster!
A/c Disaster!
So, A/C quits working, totally, clutch won't initiate, no cool air!
I get out my gauge to check the pressure on the A/C tank.....
ZERO!
I know there should at least be a few pounds, even when it's not been running.
Well, I go to start filling it up, just a bit, to see how bad it is.
Psssssss.... Air leakage sound!
I investigate further, the A/C tank is rotting!!
(I usually put the A/C **** to OFF when ever I'm exiting the truck, just a habit. Now I'm not the only one that drives the truck and occasionally it gets left in the MAX A/C when it gets parked, and from what I've researched, that causes this problem.)
I can't find any parts on-line, and I really can not afford to fix this issue.
Looks like I won't be selling my truck after all...

Suggestions, advice warmly welcomed!!

Sorry man, A/C is expensive. I busted my condenser line in 2005 and have been driving that way since. My only advice is learn to deal with the heat and drive with the windows open. If you have the time, search the junk yards every once in a while for what you need, I wish I had the time to do it.
Sure you can.
That is the filter dryer accumulator. Switch position has absolutely NOTHING to do with your failure mode.
Looks like you can get one for $31. Figure another $80-$100 for a shop to vaccum it and service it, you're golden. If you know someone with a vaccum pump, even better, DIY.
