2006 Ranger XL has cold AC on MaxAC setting only. Blower works fine at all settings. Whether on AC or MaxAC, compressor is working, but on AC setting,blower is not blowing cold air, even though the compressor is spinning and the two refrigerant lines are very cold and very hot. Fuse #27 (10amp) "Climate control blower relay/blend doors" is ok. I sure hope this is due to a fuse or relay that I haven't checked. Thanx in advance for any help.

 

If the setup is the same as my 97 I'd say it's the blend door. I got this to repair it. According to amazon it fits an 06 also.

Thanx. Looks like my blend door actuator is not turning. Darn near gotta pull dash to get it out, since that forward (front) screw is a bear to get out. Don't think I want to rig it by cutting a window and manually open/close with season. I want it to work right. Gotta price an actuator.

 

So I found one for $30, but how do I know the electrical plug into the actuator is getting the electrical signal? In other words, I'd like to be sure that the fuse/relay that activates the actuator is the one I confirmed as working in the first post, ie #27. I guess it has to be..

 

So after an hour, I did get the forward screw out of the actuator, and got it removed without pulling the dash. For reinstalling, I think I'll sacrifice an 8mm socket and glue it to the screw so I can get that front screw tightened up. There sure isn't much room in there!
