Carpet kit.

I'm going to build a kit like this for my ranger for camping.

but my question is, how do you secure that into the bed?

here is a link to more photos

Also planning on adding Another Battery into the bed along with a Power inverter for like a small electric heater, power lights, radio.

maybe thinking of adding some LEDS to the top of the cap for some lighting.

anyone have any other ideas what i could do in the bed?

check your local craigslist i see lots of people letting those go cheap ... or theres people selling shells that have one also

anyways, not sure how they are secured exactly, but they are nice if you dont haul stuff, i checked out a ranger with one when i was looking for mine but she wouldnt budge on the price and it was a 3.0 with 160k so i passed.

My dad used to build those like 20 years ago, they don't attach to the truck at all. The lowest part, I used to call the bed, would fit snugly between the two sides and it keeps them in place. The bed part can pull out and go ontop of the little steps sticking out from the seats and it pushes out same way and they don't move. Used it alot growing up. nice way to hide the fishing poles, guns, beer, =-) we made a small cooler in one back corner. and had cup holders up by the cab and in the back too..
we never mounted them to the sides at all though. never needed to....
If that were mine, I would take the bed part and re-foam it, looks a little flat.

mmk, yeah i'm guessing with the weight of the wood it would stay pretty well, maybe add a bar across up by the cab to connect them for extra support if i really wanted to, and i don't think those even have foam in it. but maybe it does.

i'm just going to put the carpet right on the wood, and have my lady make up a foam mattress 2 peices that would fit on the top.
