CB Radio Problems

Hey Guys. So lately I have been having some cb radio problems. It really all started when the plastic piece that connects the two halfs of the inline fuse broke. So I went out and bought a new in line fuse. It is smaller in size (I think a slow blow fuse) but still rated as the same amount of volts as the bigger one that came on the radio.

So it works now, but my problem seems to be when I have it on. The PA works fine, however when the cb is on, sometimes I can hear transmissions and sometimes I cant. It stays lit up (signaling that it is on) but I can have a friend transmitting and halfway through his transmission he cuts out. It seems to help if i pull the mic away from the radio towards the passenger door. If I do that I can usually hear the next few transmissions before I have to do it again. Sometimes my transmissions wont even go through without doing that.

Any thoughts?

Try another Mic. More than likely one of the wires is lose or broke where it flexes next to the radio.

When I bought my CB I just went to TA. There is one in Ontario which is like 10 minutes away from my house.
