What is good to use to clean your MAF sensor? I heard brake parts cleaner and a q-tip, but I wanted all your guys's opinions on the matter

 

i think you can use brake clean but you need to put oil on it after you clean it.

i got some special stuff at NAPA the is for MAF use special spray that dries instantly. i payed about $4 for it and its in a grey can with a pic of a maf on it. and u want to use electrical contact cleaner because the alchahol (i know spelt wrong) dries quickly and i thoguth u wanted to get it clean not put more oils on it i think u thinking of the filter K&N that u put oil on afterwards. correct me if i wrong.

Do not use brake cleaner. Go to advanced auto or auto zone and pick up a can of electrical contact cleaner, it's made by CRC. It does not leave a residue and is made for sensative electronics. That's what I use. DO NOT USE the lectra-motive stuff.

CRC released a cleaner just made for the MAFS...here is a pic:



That or the electrical contact cleaner will work fine.

I just used redular CRC contact cleaner. Sprayed the SH*T out of the MAF and connections......It runs a bit smoother now.

 

I have some elec contact cleaner somewhere around here. I guess it would make more sense than brake cleaner

 

so you want to spray the connections to? I use carborator cleaner (says its safe fore mafs ect)

 

YES that is the stuff that i was talking about that i use also. works good.
