Code 22 and 122 not starting

Been working on an 89 ford ranger with the 8 spark plug 2.3 4 cylinder and I can't get it to start. It was running a year ago and has sat since. It will turn over, I have spark and fuel checked both wont start. Not even on ether. I replaced the controls module and have codes 22 and 122. Any ideas, seems weird that the map sensor and tps sensor would both fail on their own. Is there something that would cause both these codes without both sensors being bad?

Welcome to the forum

The engine computer can only generate 2 digit codes or 3 digit codes depending on its software, pre-1995, when 4-digit and OBD2 was starting to be used
1989 should be 2 digit only

2-digit Ford code list here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...it-ford-codes/

22 MAP (vacuum) or BARO signal out of range – MAP

MAP sensor shouldn't cause a no start, rough running but it should start

2.3l uses a timing belt
Look behind the top of the timing belt cover and have some one crank the engine to make sure Cam/belt is turning
Sitting for a year and then cranking may have broke the belt, and no start of course

Gasoline lasts for maybe 6 months in a gas tank, only 4 months is best, after that it is no longer "fuel", good weed killer but not "fuel"

And bad gas will drowned an engine, causing a no start even if you add fuel directly
Crank the engine over a few times and pull out any easy to get at spark plug
Tip should be WET with "fuel", light it with a match/lighter, if its still gasoline it will burn fast and bright, if not.................drain the tank and kill some weeds

If tip is DRY then fuel injectors are not opening, but engine should have started by adding fuel manually

The timing belt is spinning when the engine is turned over. And the fuel was a little old (4-6months) last time I started it but I actually drained it out and put new in 2-3 months ago incase the fuel was the problem and still didn't change anything. I rechecked the codes today and if it is only 2 digit codes then it's giving me code 11 on repeat. Which is the code for the system being OK.
I pulled a spark plug and it is WET on the end.

Compression, fuel/air, spark, these are the 3 things required for a cylinder to fire

If cam was spinning then we will ASSUME compression is OK, but testing it would not be a bad idea, above 140psi would be expected, under 100psi is no start
If spark plug was WET and you could light it with a match then fuel is OK

So you are missing Spark, or its at the wrong time, no other option
