Hey everyone im having serious problems with my 95 ranger....i have no rear running lights at all and for brake lights only my high mount 3rd is working!!! it all started when i noticed that when i hit my brake pedal my running lights would come on...anyone have any idea or has had this happen to them...anything would help!!!

 

Maybe a loose or corroded ground wire. I would start checking those first.

 

Check the ground on the driver side inner fenderwell, clean that up.
Make sure the fuse isn't blown.
Visually inspect each tail lamp (bulb). You can usually see a blown filament, use a meter if you have one (ohms).
If you have a trailer connector, suspect that if full of crud.

 

i figured fuse but theres no damn diagram of what fuse is what and all data and mitchel on demand doesnt show anyhting and i dont have my manual!! i hate wiring so much

 

I'll say ground also. If you loose ground on a dual filament bulb, the brake light will try to power up the running lights through two bulb filaments in series.....

 

I had this problem. I found a green wire that was cut under the steering column. I found it totally by accident but it did the trick.

 

the ground sounds right becasue at one point when i tunred my lights on the brake lights would stay on....i just have to find time to check all this stuff
