Dinger for what? Open door? No seat belt? Headlights left on?

Welcome to the forum

+1 ^^^, there is more than one "dinger"

And there is no GEM module in a 2008 Ranger?
So not sure what you found behind the radio
1995-2003 Rangers used GEMs, 2004-2011 Rangers used SJB's in passenger side kick panel, cab fuse box is part of the SJB(smart junction box)

If dinger is on when drivers door is open or closed but no key in ignition then its the "key in ignition wire" shorted to ground, easy to fix

There is also a Headlights ON dinger with key off door open

Then the seatbelt dinger

Look on the parking brake pedal and cable unit at the back towards the top and you will see a 1 or 2 wire switch and connector, unplug it and no more light or dinger

And we are talking about a US/Canada made Ranger right?
1983-2011
Not a T6 Ranger, which is larger, and a model we never had here in North America until 2019

My question is: Why?

I certainly wouldn't want to end up needing new brakes just because I couldn't see the idiot light on the dash.

OK all I am asking for is a little help with a question and really do not need this kind of treatment !

I have my reasons for what I am attempting to do, and if you are not willing to provide any useful info don't reply !
That is about as kind as I can be in my response.

The chime itself is built into the instrument cluster on 2006 and up Rangers
