dead battery...again
dead battery...again
i went out to start my explorer this morning and i guess the battery is dead this has happened more than once and have already replaced the battery once about a month ago this fixed it for a while now its doing it again.anyone know or think they know what might be wrong? if i can get it started again im gonna bring it to autozone for a alt test.(sry i know its not ranger related but i need help..thanks)
1st thing to do is jump start it and put a voltmeter across the battery and see if the alternator is putting out at least about 13.8 volts at idle.
you could then take it to autozone or a local garage and have a load test done to see if the battery is still good. even new batteries have been known to fail..

IF the alternator is good and the battery is good (may have been a bad one) check the grounding of the battery/frame and the engine to frame.
Sometimes good to replace all the wiring with the new alternator or at least chk it over.
