Don't know what drum brake hardware set-up with new 8.8 axle is
I have a 92' Ranger with 2.9 V6. I'm getting ready to install a reman complete rear axle assembly with 8.8 and 4.10 gear ratio. The new axle assembly still uses 10 inch drums like the old one.
The new axle requires different drum brake hardware for 99-2008 Ranger XLT. A couple questions please:
1. The hardware kit for this has some different pieces than what is used by my 92' Ranger. Is there a diagram or procedure for this? I can't find much available. Even the Chilton manual doesn't show the different drum brake hardware set-up.
2. Also, I might need a different parking brake lever and parking brake strut. If so, what aftermarket part numbers are compatible with this new axle model year range? Are these even available ?
Will my drum brakes still work without a parking brake? Because I'm worried I'll be without a parking brake.

I would have to remove the axle shaft to switch out the backing plate. I don't want to do that since the axle assembly has a 3-year warranty.
I may have found a photo of the drum brake hardware layout I need. (see link below) The hardware in the photo matches what I have in my hardware kit for the new axle backing plate.
Is this the correct assembly for roughly 99-2008 Ranger?

As far as the parking brake strut and lever, there is evidence online that my old parking brake parts can be used on this new axle. But I won't know for sure till I assemble the drum brakes
I also have two different types of parking brake struts......one of which I believe will fit.

The new drum brakes are installed. I was able to re-use the parking brake struts and levers. The parking brake cables might need adjusting or minor retrofitting.
Truck with remanufactured rear axle assembly is up and running. I was able to find a picture of a completed drum with the exact hardware from my kit.
