Icon5 Parking Brake Adjuster Kit - Which side is which?

So I bought this rear brake kit from rock auto:

https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...8309&jsn=11112

and I cant figure out which side the brake adjuster kits are for, any ideas?

Edit: Never mind, there was an L and R stamped in the adjust arms.

lol, I was going to say they're usually marked L and R

The shoe with shorter lining goes to the front, primary shoe
The one with longer lining goes to the rear, secondary shoe

You can adjust the Parking Brake "adjusters", after drums are on, by hold out the parking brake release handle and then pumping the parking brake pedal, it should get tighter and tighter, as the adjusters unscrew to press shoes against the drums
You can't over adjust them doing this

Normally when you back up and apply the brakes they will self adjust, or each time you use the parking brake they will adjust

Nice, I thought I would have to manually adjust them. Hopefully all the parts show up today, doing the parking brake lines, switching the steel brake lines to Nicopp and doing the cylinders while its all apart.

You should manually adjust them with drums off, so the drums slide on tight to center the shoes, but not too tight so you can't get the drum back off, lol

IDK why but with any Ford I've ever worked on, the drums always seem like a pain to get off at first. That's why I'm doing them now; they were new last year but I destroyed the shoes while trying to get to the axle seals; broke hardware and chipped the material while reefing/hammering on them.

You do need to spin the adjusters "backwards" to reduce the diameter of the shoes before pulling the drums

Backwards is the direction then don't turn, lol

Drawing here: https://i.stack.imgur.com/EDVMB.gif

You pull off the rubber plug on the back plate to access the adjuster "star"
Then use a screw driver to spin it, it will only turn one way, the wrong way, remember which way
Then use a small long screw driver(or long nail or ???) to push out the "star" lock tab
Then you can spin the "star" the Right way

Just need a few spins and the drum will come off easily, well unless its rusted to axle/lugs, lol
