Does your dome light stay on too b/c of this. I have seen that happen too. In fact I took the bulb out of our F-550 because it has that problem.

Seems to be only 98-00. Nothing a shot of WD-40 to the latches can't take care of.

thats what I was going to say take some pb blaster or wd40 and spray your latches on the door may take a couple times (spray a shot or two open and close the door a couple times) that usually takes care of the problem... i got that from justin frdtch

If you don't have 4whldrive you can remove fuse #26 until you get it fixed. That will keep the door switches and dome light out of commision temporarily. If you don't need the 4whl, you casn take that fuse out but every once in a while, your 4wl indicator lights wil blink to tell you the fuse is out.

It isn't just the 98-00's that this happens to. It happened to my 03 and can happen to any vehicle on which the device that turns off the dome light when you close the door is INSIDE the door latch on the edge of the door. Sometimes the device sticks and the result is that the door ajar light is on, or the dome light is on, or both, even though both doors are shut tight. Spray WD40 or some other lubricant all over inside the door latch opening in the edge of the door. Then open and close the door a few times. If this doesn't work spray again and open and close the door a few times again. If it still doesn't work, its an easy and quick fix to take off the upholstery panel on the inside of the door and replace the sticking device.
