Door panels

I have been searching for a few days now but I cannot find a definative answer. Are the switches in the doors for the windows and locks as well as the headlight switch supposed to be lit up like the rest of the dash? I never noticed they didn't work when I bought the truck about three weeks or so ago and ever since then I have trouble finding the switches at night cause I can't see them. Please help me!!!

headlight switch is supposed to light up....but whenever there's a key in the igniton, it's on. They burn out very frequently. Hell, my parents bought my brother's 01 brand new. It never lit up. lol.

Only 08+ Ranger door switches are ones that light up. 07 and older, no illumination.

I wish I had the link to it, but there is a guy on CarDomain (also on Ranger Station) that details how to install a LED in the headlight switch. Seemed fairly easy from what I remember.

I made a copy of it and it isn’t too hard more time consuming but actually taking the switch out of the dash now that was the *****.
