Door sticker decoder

I have been searching for a good door sticker decoder and can't seem to find a decent one. This is the best one that i have found
http://www.ford-trucks.com/article/i...r_Decoder.html
and it really isnt that accurate. For example my axle code is not on here.
Also my radio code is 1, but that really doesn't mean anything to me. Essentially I am wondering if anyone has come across a better door sticker decoder, that provides more information.

That was the only one I could find as well. There was a post about 2 weeks ago talking about the same thing.

I've been trying to figure out the same thing. My torsion bar code has 4 letters vice what I've seen on other trucks.

your torsion bar code is either 1 diget or 2 diget. the 4 diget is the FFRR(front front rear rear) codes.

THE BEST door sticker decoder is found is this HUGE fat Ford service manual that i purchased off ebay. Imagine a Chiltons/Haynes that's 7 times as big, and WAYYYYYYYY more detailed and your local ford dealership uses these things....
(i got mine for $50 shipped...all three books)

A very generous offer!

And I would also add that if there was specific information that you are searching for about your particular vehicle, just ask - undoubtedly, there are forum members that will be able to answer your question, or to point you in the right direction.

Wow i wish i would have found that when i was searching earlier. Anyways i have a few questions that hopefully someone can help me with.

1.) i have the rear spring rate of K is that the softest or the stiffest?
2.) I have the axle code of R7 which is a 4.10 ls but does anyone know what kind it is, ie dana xx ?
3.) also in position 12 what is the calibration code?
4.) my interior trim code is ET what does this mean?
5.) my brake code is D what does this mean?
6.) my GVWR is 5080 lbs. What is the largest trailer weight that i can pull?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer these questions, I have been wondering about these for a while now.

Your rear axle is a Ford 8.8 with 4.10 LS

I'm looking up the others right now

According to my 2001 book, order of rear spring rates are as follows: 3, 7, C, K, N. N being the softest, 3 being the firmest.

2.) I have the axle code of R7 which is a 4.10 ls but does anyone know what kind it is, ie dana xx ?
R7 = 4.10 Limited Slip. Doesn't tell me which axle, but I firmly believe you've got a Ford 8.8".

3.) also in position 12 what is the calibration code?
Post me your code and i'll decode it for ya.

4.) my interior trim code is ET what does this mean?
E = Cirrus Clothe 60/40 Split Bench Seat
T = Dark Graphite

5.) my brake code is D what does this mean?
Only code i have in my 2001 book is B - Four-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS). 2001+ was the first year where all trucks have four-wheel ABS.

6.) my GVWR is 5080 lbs. What is the largest trailer weight that i can pull?
Got a owner's manual? I can't help ya there too well.

you dont have a Level 2, thus making you either have 1's or B's. Only the Level 2's came with only 1's. Another reason i can tell that you are not a Level 2, is that your truck has 16's stock....L2's have 15's stock....thus making your truck a Fx4 Off Road/4x4 Off Road(fx4L1 sometimes called).

Good point. They dropped the L2 and mixed a lil L2 into the L1 mix....i think Ford went with a more comfortable ride going with the B's rather than 1's on those trucks.

The TP/PS is tape and paint stripe, I don't know what the code is though, maybe Silver?

You have the 5r55e tranny

For the calibration code the 1 means year 2001, the R3 means Ranger, the B means U.S. California emission standard. I don't know what the 405 is.

I don't mean to jack the thread but I took a picture of mine and was using the decoder the OP was using. I came across a few questions.
1) I have the TP/PS code of S/. On that site it says that it was only avalible on XLT off road. What is this so called XLT Off Road?

2) The TR code says 'D'. According to a few sites that is the 5 speed auto. When I looked it up is says its for the 4.0L from 95-01. But my truck is a 3.0L.

If Shane or someone could break all of it down it would be greatly appericated. One day I will have enough money to get me a set of the Service Manuals. Thanks. Here is a picture of the sticker.

The tranny code D just means automatic transmission, it applies for all. You have the 5r44e

126" wheelbase, you have a leather bench seat? S is the stripe color, R is the radio don't know what it stands for though, 97 is a open 8.8 with 4.10s, you have #1 t-bars and K leafs, and you have a 2001 Ranger with an automatic transmission that is certified to us california emissions standards.

No leather just your standard gray cloth bench seats. Over on TRS they have different transmissions codes. But heck if its the 5-speed auto I am happy.

no prob dude...its about time i get to know these books better. lol.

my calibration code is
1R31B
405
1 = 2001
R3 = Ranger
1 = Automatic Transmission
B = U.S. California Standard

Little confused on the 405....i suspect it's the #405 Unique Calibration...aka engine, package equipment, options, etc. This code is probably what determines which trucks get #1 bars and B bars.

I know that 2001+ have all 4 wheel abs, i am wondering since mine was made in nov of 2000, could it only have 2 wheel abs? It does have a brake code of D. (but it is an 01)
IDK...my truck is a mid year 2001 and it for sure has 4-wheel ABS. Take a look at the ABS module unit thingy in front of the engine bay fuse box. AND...take a look at your front knuckles. If there's a sensor on the knuckle and wiring onthe side of the frame going from the front of the frame to the knuckl, you likely have 4wheel ABS.

My TP/PS code is S/ ?
TP/PS = Tape/Paint Stripe....

S = Silver, Styleside

I know that my tanny code is D which is the 5spd auto but what is the # for it?
D = Five-Speed Automatic (A5LD/5R55E)

and finally the region code is 48
Ive got nothing that says what the region codes mean in my book...only a note showing 'this is the region code' lol.

Thanks alot to those who will help!!!!
yeahhh buddy
