Dual OR Single Exhaust:
Dual OR Single Exhaust:
I couldnt find much in search about it so i am asking:
Which is better Dual or Single?
Which is louder?
Which yields highest hp and tq gains?
What the pros or cons?
What does everyone use??
I just want to hear some input as i go to re do my exhaust.
So the question is dual or single and why hehe
Have at it.

The shortest route will give the best hp/tq so single side exit or dumped in front of the axle. I have a Gibson cat-back system and love it, though it is not very loud at all. I am just concerned with flow and hp so it fit my needs.
Dual isnt nessicarily louder.. Its still 1 muffler, its just having that extra pipe you can hear the tone slightly more, from my experience. And yeah i wouldnt go any bigger than 2 1/4 for the "fake" duals. 2" like Shane stated would be more ideal.
I've noticed...duals dumped is considerably louder than a single dumped....
Trent...3" in/dual 2.5" out muff....2.5" pipe in, dual 2" out piping.......Exhaust shops can either expand the tubing, or use those fancy bushings.
DUAL OUT is only made with a Offset 3" in on Super44's.

ok why dont ya just run true duals with no mufflers or cats? u could also upgrade the cats to smaller ones and still run true duals. i read sumwhere that it cant be done but i hate to make any1 mad but ive seen true duals on three rangers.
I have the stainless JBA cat back system. Single pipe, fits right into the stock exhaust location. 2.5" pipe the entire way. I love the sound and i'm sure JBA made it to some good specs to give the truck the best possible performance. JBA has dyno sheets and it shows.
