Electrical or Fuel Pump Issue
Electrical or Fuel Pump Issue
Hi all, new to the forum,
I have a 2002 Ranger, 4.0, 4x4, about 103K miles.
About a year ago I started having a problem that has me completely baffled. Most of the time the truck starts and runs just fine but every 2 weeks or so it will not start due to the fuel pump not priming. When it does that, I have to let it sit for a few hours and then every time the pump will prime as normal, and it starts right up and will run all day without issue. I'm at a complete loss if it could be a possible fuel pump problem or something else entirely. I have done all the cheap fixes I can think of, filter, relay, fuel cap but the problem persists. Has anybody encountered anything like this and found a solution?
Thank you

It starts right up in the morning. The problem happened yesterday afternoon and after sitting overnight it started right up this morning. I think it has a tendency to happen after I've already driven once in the day.
