Electrical issues!!!

Hi. I have a 2003 Ford ranger and I’m having some light issues. So my fog lights, tail lights and my lights on my dash(excluding say the check engine light and other lights of that sort) all went out at the same time I’ve checked the fuses and replaced any that were bad. My question is where do I start next is it possible it could be a relay or if there is anyway to find the issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum

There were burned out fuses?
Which ones, numbers and which fuse box, also what amps, that can point to what shorted out to blow those fuses

The main light switch powers all those lights, it gets power from fuse 33 in engine fuse box, headlights use a different fuse

yes a few burned fuses 7.5 amp both related to the trailer light connect so shouldn’t have been an issue I will recheck fuse 33 but I’m pretty sure they all looked good

Check it with ohm meter or swap it with another fuse, visual fuse check is not always accurate

If its OK then you are probably down to the main light switch failing

And if you have a trailer light connector on the rear then it may be shorted out(corroded) which caused those 7.5amp fuses to blow and took out the light switch
The Park lights(tail lights) are also on a trailer connector but no separate fuse to protect the light switch
