Engine light from new Flowmaster exhaust HELP PLEASE

Whatsup guys! So I had some Flowmaster super 40 series put on my truck by a local shop (sounds AMAZING btw) and a few months later my engine light came on. Took the truck to ford and the mechanic there showed me that when they installed the exhaust (dual exit) the pipe on the left hand side of the truck was touching some rubber hosing that recycled gas fumes from the gas tank or something like that. Ford wants almost $500 to fix it because the hose runs all the way from the gas tank to the engine.

Is there a way to fix this myself? Im thinking maybe cut the hose just before the melted section and replace it with some sort of metal tubing that can take the heat of the exhaust pipe? I really dont know what im doing so if this is possible to do myself I need to know what im getting into and how to do it.

Thanks! Now for some pics

get a metal connector and slide each end of tubing over the pipe connector. find some slack and zip tie it up out of the way
Like the ones in the middle
