so i recently installed an ohc in my 04. everything went fine and it looks great. the only thing i am wondering about is why the screen is brighter when i dont have the running or headlights on? i'm not sure if it's a dimmer feature or if something is wrong? i'd like for it to stay bright the whole time. if i was to cut the dimmer wire would this keep it from doing it??

 

supposed to be that way, just like the old factory radios were brighter without headlights on

 

To stay bright the entire time, just hook the dimmer wire up to the power wire at the radio. Thats how mine is now.

 

I left my dimmer wire disconnected as it would not work properly. My green display stays the same brightness-bright.
