Factory power lock actuator
I was looking into this for my dads explorer, because his actuator is shot, and i remember reading that the actuator is riveted in place. That means you have to drill the old one out, and then rivet in the new one. I though it would be as simple as a couple bolts, but lo and behold, it's rivets.
ya i got it out and it looked like all one unit with the door latch so, I dont want a used one from the junk yard so I think im goin to go with a kit from a1. but it was a pain to get out thats for sure.
i replaced mine but i dont remember exactly how it was mounted but i do know there wasnt any rivets but there are like 2 or 3 rods you have to detach which is pretty hard but they snap right back in when putting back together and a new actuator going to un about $75 its crazy
