Fixing Dome Light

Whats the easiest way to fix the dome light wiring? I broke all the little black tabs and for some reason cant get the dome light to stay flush with the headliner again. I have explorer sun visors (power) so if i need to wire those in with the dome light, that info would be helpful also.

well if the connections ore on the roof like mine and since yours wont go flush and it wont make the connectins, then just solder a smal length of wire to the connections and that shoul solve the problem

What I did was took a ground wire and attach a eye terminal to it and wrapped it around the ground screw for the mirrors. Its the screw that has the hole with a small bit of metal showing. On your ranger you have plastic pieces you screw into, in explorers its to the metal of the cab. Thats why it won't work with out modification because the plastic keeps it from grounding. So if you bridge the screw using a ground wire then it will work.

same thing i told him in his other thread about it.

no offense to famous_xlt, but you need to use the search and look at the stickies and how to's. you aren't the first to do this stuff and it's covered on here hundreds of times.
