Flickering dome lights

I decided to do the dome light swap about a year ago, Stock, the truck came with one 921 bulb. After the new modification it takes 2 of them.
I rewired the unit to feed off the dome light switch behind my dash (was fun). But I've noticed that if I leave it on for a little while they occasionally flicker, not much but I noticed it.
So I swapped to LEDs because I thought it might be a load issue, but the darn LEDs just are not bright enough for me.

What would you suggest I do to fix this, or is it safe to leave as is? I did put an inline fuse just in case it was to short.

Thanks!

I'm not sure I understand your dome light modification

Which dome light do you have?

I just soldered LED's to the contacts of the dome light and have had no problems at all.

Any info on how you rewired it? Or is it common mod that I've never seen?

I did just as the usual wiring, cept color codes are different, I know I wired it correctly

I'm thinking the ground isn't too good. I had to relocate it into the new dome light when I swapped them out.

04+ didn't have 2 wires up there so 1 has to be ran up from behind the headlight switch. Not really super hard to do and its way worth it!
