Ford HIDs
Ford HIDs
Has anyone attempted to adapt a Lincoln Aviator, Navigator, or similar Ford HID system to a Ranger? I can pull the system from a wreck if I know what all (exactly) parts, harnesses, etc. I need to get. I know there are aftermarket systems availible but seems like an OEM system would be better quality and more reliable if it could be made to work.
because it wont be right and hids in stock halogen reflectors plain out suck. yeah you get a lot more of a brighter light, but the point of hid is to jhave a focus beam, with a great cutoff. none of which happens in a non projector setup.

aside to the fact that they are illegal in stock housings not made for them. and also illegal on vehicles that didnt come stock with them, wether it be with projectors or in factory housings. but not many modders care about that anyways.
ya.. you know how your goin down the raod and you get blinded by the car on the otherside of the freeway.. thats illegal HID's, factory ones are forcused and most (if not all) are self adjusting using vehicle hieght sensors. that way when you load up with people or junk in the bed your not lighting up the tops of the trees..

you can always tell a kit from a real projector system. the kits will have a glare 100 percent of the time, and as a vehicle with a real system comes to you they become less obvious and then look like normal halogens.
