yours sounds like mine, clean the contacts on the plug under your seats... there is a code that flashes to tell you which one it is, but might as well do both takes less than a minute.... See if that fixes it.

Marie, my wife had the same problem when she would take the truck in to ford. They tell her a bunch of crap and produce a list of things that needs to be fixed ( all for one hell of a price) but never fixed what she originally took it in for.... If all else fails, write a letter ( not a nasty gram) to the GM , if that doesn't fix it, write to the regional (director or GM) , <--- always gets good results from past expeirence good luck...

OK, I guess I need to update... I took the truck in like 5 times to have the brakes looked at. According the them that's perfectly normal for ranger brakes to squeak because of the material. I told them that I'm on a forum full of rangers and none of them squeak and of course they respond with "well our tech with a ranger has squeaky brakes". I talked to my service writer, his manager, and wrote a letter to the dealership manager and never got anywhere. Luckily Josh hooked me up with Thermoquiets so a couple thousand miles ago I swapped them out and gave my old pads to work so they can throw them on the work ranger when it needs new brakes.

As for the air bag they replaced the sensor inside the seat and I haven't had any problems since. They tried to blame it on me saying stuff hit the wires underneath the seat but it was no charge to I nodded and smiled and let it go.

I've also had issues shifting but I'm not really sure what to do abut that. It's really hard to get into 1st/R but according to Ford there's nothing wrong with the truck. They told me to make sure I wasn't shifting while the truck was moving (um... ok... no). I've pretty much given up... I only have a couple thousand miles left on my warranty and other than the shifting there aren't any problems so I threw in the towel. I don't plan on taking it there for oil changes either... only every once and awhile so they can look the truck over and let me know if they see anything.

Luckily I haven't had them tried to sell me anything I don't need but we will see how long that lasts.

glad to hear the thermoquiets fixed the problem, thermoquiet pads are all i will install on anyones vehicle outside of the dealership. as for the airbag light, keep taking it back. and for the clutch, tell them you want the trans removed and the slave and clutch both replaced. mark some of the bolts on the trans with marks you will easily recognize and mark the clutch through the inspection hole so you know it is replaced if they say it is. sounds like your service department sucks, at my work, if you complain enough, the service manager will do whatever you want (except, if you work there haha)

The airbag light is fixed justie... and I told them before I wanted the brakes replaced and they didn't do it... If I tell them to do it doesn't mean they will... Shane has a theory that the shifting only happens when it's warm so I'm gonna test that in the next few days... fingers crossed

Theres the big main connector under the drivers seat on the bottom of the truck, a bolt holds it connected. Take the bolt off, undo the connector, and put some dielectric grease in it. Mine used the do the same thing when I first got the truck and doing that fixed it.

if the clutch only does it when warm id suspect a slave or a malfunctioning self adjuster on the pressure plate

Just another little update for everyone... truck has 35,700 miles on it so I took it in on Wed to have my shifting issue looked at again and they are putting in a new clutch and new slave... we will see if that fixes it....
