Forward mounted PA speaker...Pic request of your PA speaker location.
Hi.
I've got the perfect location behind the grille to mount my PA speaker. It'll be nice and loud and annoying. Question: Would it be bad if I mounted the speaker facing forward?? Meaning sound being aimed foward right behind the grille. Should I put some sort of mesh in front of it to protect it from flying projectiles??
Also, I'd love to see everyones PA speaker locations. Where'd ya put it??
Thanks!!!
Shane

i need to find a new position for mine...or get a smaller PA...
Mine was an off white color so i spray painted it black...all they had was high gloss though...
EDIT: I think I'm going to try to mount behind my license plate...ill take a look later today and see if that is possible...a buddy of mine has his behind his plate and its still loud...

You shouldn't have any problem. The siren speaker on my truck and most of our fire trucks are right in front on the bumpers with nothing in front of them at all. They do fine. When I used to have a CB/PA in my old old Ranger, I had the cheapo speaker in the grill facing forward and it was also not a problem. You'll be fine and it will work great.
