Front side light works, but not blinker

I managed to crack the lenses of my right-front headlight and right front side/blinker light.
I replaced the lights, and they worked, but the headlight needed to be re-adjusted.
After re-adjusting, my right side light works, but not the blinker. Instead of normal blinker sound, I get a very fast clicking, and the blinker does not work.
I took a quick look, and found nothing that looked out of place. Even with the headlight out, the side light does the same thing. The left blinker works fine. Also both tail light blinkers work fine.
Any help on what I can do would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum

The year of Ranger would help

Fast blinking means there is a higher amp load on that side, happens when you hook up trailer lights, extra bulb = higher load
Slow or no flash mean lower amp load like when a bulb is burned out

So it reads like bulb is shorted or wire to front on that side is

Year matters because some have 1 wire for all turns on that one side, some have 2 wires, front and rear on each side

Sorry that I forgot to include the year. It's a 2010. I do not have a trailer hooked up. I think there are two wires.

Thank you for reply.

The trailer comment was meant as an example

Yes, 2010 will have one wire for rear left and one for rear right turn
And one wire for dash and front turn right and one for left
So 4 wires total

See if 4-ways act the same

But should be an issue with wires at the front corner, unplug them and the bulb and see if dash light flashes normally on that side, it uses the same wire

I think I have it, more or less, fixed.
First: I thought the side lights did the blinking. Actually, it's small amber lights within the headlight that do the blinking.
As it turned out, the attachment that clicks into the headlight wire attachment was cracked, and loose. I pushed that back together, and the blinker started working.
I say it's "more or less" fixed because those attachments could come loose again. Also, the headlight is not really secure. Hard to explain, there are these flat rods that push down over the headlight holding/adjusting clips, I cannot get it to push down correctly.

I am not sure about a 2010 Ranger but there is a blinker mod to make the side marker blink with the other directionals.

I have the mod done on the 2003 Ranger, work good, but there is a problem, there is feed-back to the dash indicators when you use LED Bulbs.

There maybe a fix for the LEDs but i am not the person to tell you what it is... even if I knew what it was !

RonD, Is there a fix for using LEDs Bulbs or another mod that works with LEDs to make the side markers blink with the directionals ?

Do you have a 2 filament bulb and fitting in the side light?

You should, thats the better way to do it, so you have a marker light and brighter turn signal light

For LEDs you can use electronic flasher instead of the regular thermal flashers

The 2003 has two wire and a single filament bulb, the 2010 I don't know.

Yes, all years just have the single filament bulb and wiring for marker lights, need to change that

If you don't want side marker then cut its 12v wire and hook it up to turn signal wire on that side

Other option, if you want both, a side marker and turn signal, is a relay for each marker bulb
Simplest would be to use 5 post relay, that cuts park light 12v to the marker bulb, when turn signal is on, this would create an alternating blinker, i.e. front, side, front, side, ect....
And would only flash marker if park lights were on

And as said the dual filament bulb would give you both

Great thinking !

I like the 5-Post Relay setup ! Interesting, very interesting !
I've often wondered what circuits I could use the 5-Post relays in.
I'm at least going to try it out.
Thanks RonD
