Fuel gauge resistance?

Fuel gauge resistance?

anyone knows the resistance at full and low of the sending unit in the tank for a ranger 2003. i need to put a fuel cell at the spare place and want one with the correct fuel level sensor but i cant find the resistance of the oem sending unit

It doesn't say in my set of diagrams for a 2003 but for mine on a 2000 it shows 22ohms for empty 145 for full.

If this is not correct, what you could do is disconnect the wires for that circuit and place a potentiometer in the line and change the resistance while looking at your fuel gauge till its at empty and when its full. Then just take a ohmmeter and measure the resistances off the pot after each test.

Thanks, thought about it with a ohm meter. Seems ill have to make shure that way.
