Fuel Issues 2000 Ranger 2.5
I recently purchased a 2000 Ranger with the 2.5 and a 5 speed for next to nothing, it had been rolled and the cab chopped off and made in to convertible for lack of a better term, being the powertrain only had 100k on everything I decided I'd cab swap the truck and daily it eventually. Well my cab's swapped and the truck has be running up until a few days ago I was trying to resolve an intermittent issue with the fuel pump sometimes it would come on with the key other times not. I've messed around and gotten the fuel pump to run but now it won't shut off at all and runs continuously with the key on. I thought no big deal I have several pieces of equipment this way on the farm haven't had any issues, but this little guy has decided that all four injectors will spray continuously as well even with the motor off and it's fillling my cylinder head all the way into the intake with gas. Any ideas would be very welcome.

Welcome to the forum
Reads like a few wiring issues
Fuel pump power ran thru the cab
In the passenger kick panel in the corner was the Inertia Switch, small black box with Red button on top, this cuts power to the fuel pump in an accident, like a roll over
Fuel pump power runs like this:
battery-------FP Fuse--------FP relay--------------------------------------inertia switch-----------------------Fuel Pump
FP fuse and FP relay are in the engine fuse box
FP relay is controlled by the computer, computer GROUNDS this relay to send power from FP Fuse to the pump
So did you by pass the FP Relay?
Owners manual here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/genera...1-models-3747/
Fuel injectors all get 12volts with key on, the RED wire that daisy chains from one to the next
The computer GROUNDS each injector to open it
So one or more of your 4 injector wires are GROUNDED somewhere, shorted to ground, between injector and computer, or computer is bad

Yes I bypassed the relay thinking the either relay or the wiring in the relay were faulty. All four of my injectors spray fuel continuously all simultaneously. After spraying and then shutting the key off the fuel rail is holding pressure making me believe like you say I have a wiring issue

I would hook FP relay back up
And check the cab wiring for the inertia switch which would have been disconnected when you changed cabs
A dark Green/yellow stripe wire runs from FP Relay(in engine fuse box) to the inertia switch in the Cab
A Pink/black stripe wire runs from inertia switch(in the cab) to the fuel pump
The fuel pumps GROUND wire, Black wire, is often connected near the inertia switch(in the cab), and they are joined with the Yellow/white stripe wire for the fuel gauge, and then run out and back to the tank
