Fuel Pump?

I have a 94 ranger 5 speed 3.0L. For the past couple of months my truck has died down. It only occurs when it hasn't been touched for a couple hours and just sat outside. If I rev it high it won't stall out. When it does stall I have to wait a minute and then pump it and it will start again. If I let it sit for a couple minutes this problem doesn't occur.

i have a 93 and had a problem during the summer where the truck would not start after it was turned off while hot.
turned out to be the fuel pump relay, which is located in a box on the drivers side fender well.

if i understand youre problem, the next time this happens switch the fuel pump relay with another relay in the box and see what happens. they are the same relay just plugged into a different circuit
