Fuel pump bad?
Fuel pump bad?
2006 ford ranger
Engine cold, usually starts ok.
Engine up to temp, hard time starting or doesnt start at all.
Most of the time, engine will putter and shake horribly then choke out and die.
Tried replacing TPS but didnt change anything.
Clogged fuel filter or bad fuel.pump?

Welcome to the forum
What engine, 2.3l, 3.0l or 4.0l?
TPS is an odd part to change for the symptoms?
For sure not fuel filter, although good to change these every 5 years or so
Probably not fuel pump, possible but not likely
Do you smell gasoline odor when there is a no start
If so I would change ECT(coolant temp) sensor, it can cause warm engine to Flood out if it tells computer engine is cold
Coil Packs can get heat sensitive, have a look at it, look for small cracks

When you shut off an engine the engine bay gets warmer, no fan or coolant circulation so there is a spike in temp under the hood, which is normal
If a part is becoming heat sensitive then it can work fine when driving but just after shut off it gets hotter and can act up, until it cools down
Fuel pump is immersed in gasoline so temp doesn't really change much, not real warm or cold, when off or running, if you noticed the problem only when under an 1/4 tank it could be the pump since its partially uncovered
