Fuel Pump Wire Color
Fuel Pump Wire Color
Hey guys,
I need to know the color of the fuel pump wires. I want to install a kill switch on my truck, and I want to install it using the fuel pump wires so the pump won't work unless the switch is on.
The fuse panel does not have a fuse for the pump, and the relay is the 46A as many Rangers have at the relay box under the hood. I'm looking to connect the switch using the wires going to the relay box.
Could I use the wires by the inertia switch on the kick panel by the passenger side? If so, which would be the wire to use?
Any help is appreciated.

You can use the wires at the inertial switch and any of the two wires would work. Its just a simple switch in series with the pump/relay. To prove this try starting your truck with the switch removed.
Why are you adding a kill switch I ask? Extra security?

Thanks, Anthony. Can I just disconnect the inertia switch or do I need to cut the wires to remove it?
Last week someone tried to break into my truck, so that is why I want to install the kill switch.
