On 95-up (or when ever they changed the interior) look like this:
Lay on your back and look on the "passenger side" of the steering and you'll see it. You should be able to reach it with out removing anything. I need to do mine either tomorrow or tuesday...
(upper center, not the thing under my fingers)

Heres another pic. the 2 bolt holes in the right center of the pic are where the hood release goes. Right in the center you see a small white piece with a black circle...thats it. The black circle is the bolt holding it in NOT the adjuster. the adjuster is a small wheel on that same piece of white plastic.
Other useless info:
The green, blue, red and white wires on the top are the PATS wires.
The yellow tube in the middle is your multifunction switch wires.
The big white block on the left is where all of your ignition wires connect.

That sounds like a tranny problem. Because what these guys did was adjust the needle to show what they are in. So it was cosmetic. Your problem is it won't stay in park, sounds like you need to check the tranny.
