Green Wire on 2.3 Liter Identification

Hello everyone! Long time lurker 1st time poster. I have recently acquired a 2001 Ford Ranger XL with a 2.3 Liter Manual Transmission that has been setting since 2011.

I have been looking but I can't find what this green wire is for.

Thanks in Advance,
Jeremy

Welcome to the forum

Looks Yellow to me in the picture
And it should also have a stripe color, most wiring will have two colors like "yellow/red" so yellow with red stripe, or light green/blue, green with blue stripe

Also very odd to have a single wire on its own, could there have been another wire in that harness that has been chewed off so you can't see it?
Oil pressure wire was dark green/white and just the 1 wire
Temp gauge wire was red/white and could be 1 wire, but in 2001 most likely 2 wires

RonD,
Thank you for the quick answer, I looked at some other photos I had and it looks like there is a yellow wire in there with it. I will check tonight and see if I can see what it is but I can tell that yes there are 2 wires in there. I have spliced the wire already that was cut but didn't do a great job because there wasn't much wire I could get a hold of. It goes into a plastic clip that clips in between the spark plugs. I just want to see how critical it is so I can make the proper repair as needed. I couldn't figure out how to get that clip off so I could repair it good. I've looked all over the internet trying to find out what it is but I am not doing a good job of describing it.
Thanks again

Almost all sensors have a grey/red wire, that's the common "reference ground" that comes from computer
CHT(cylinder head temp) sensor also has a yellow/light green wire with it
CHT is located between spark plugs 3 and 4 on top of engine

It is a main sensor as this tells the computer the "engine temp", it replaced the ECT sensor on the 2.3l Duratec engines
This operates the choke on cold starts so pretty important

Perfect, I will figure out a way to get it unplugged from between plugs 3 and 4. Do you know how to remove that particular clip by chance? I have a bad history of pushing in when I should be pulling out and breaking clips. My fat fingers and the location of that clip don't work to my advantage either :)

Picture of CHT sensor here: https://ww2-secure.justanswer.com/up...1_184620_1.gif

Looks like you would push in on the tab then pull connector up, but never removed one myself
