hammering out dents?

How many people have had success hammering out dents? i got a medium sized dent lastnight just behind my left headlights and in front of my front left wheel. its somewhat noticeable and i'd really like to pop it out but i'd rather not have to pay for it as i'm in between jobs and am a poor college student :/

thanks in advance,
sal

depending on the location of the dent. i did it on my old ranger i had, it was in the bed behind the driverside fender well, i wedged a flat volley ball up in there and pumped it up and popped the dent right out

like i said if you can get a ball up in there and pump it up try it, i know it works and not like the heat gun and duster trick, it doesnt work

that's a good idea, i'll try it out. i was gonna just try to get a rubber mallet and slowly pound it out, or use somethign like a real small jack to push it out.

haha alright, i'll try the volleyball trick first. i just need to find a small enough socket to get some of the nuts off the wheel well cover so i can reach in there.
