You would be better off adding a 3rd party cruise control.

'97 had the paddles on the edge of the steering wheel, which broke, so wrecking yard may not have them.
So you would need the steering wheel with clockspring and column harness, which means airbag so not cheap, however your current air bag should fit so see if wrecker will keep one and knock down the price.

You need the Cruise Control amplifier, these also break so wreckers often don't have them.

You need Cruise Control Servo, these will be easy to find, get all the vacuum hoses and if possible the Vacuum Dump valve from the brake pedal, look for White vacuum hose.
Also the Cruise Control throttle cable, make sure your throttle has a double cable hookup, most do but if it doesn't you will need that as well.

Thank You for the help, have the column which start this quest from standard to tilt with cruise control. just seeing if it's possible to add the rest to my truck & what other parts I need to get, but I will check into 3rd party hook-up just to be on the new side, already need to remove the automatic stick from the column, donor is an explorer 97 will look into it all. Thank You again
