Hella optilux...switch wiring.

Hey guys,

Last year I busted a headlight while driving on an access road at night. It was pretty scary driving on a winding forest trail with only one bulb, so I purchased a pair of Hella brand optilux 1400 for use as back-up lights. Wasn't really looking for the "exxxxtreme offroad look" where I see some trucks with 150 watt spotlights mounted to every available surface lol. I just needed some small lights behind the grill to take over in case of emergency....
Heres my question: The wiring diagram that came only shows me how to wire the switch to come on with the high beams, and I wanted it wired independently so I could turn them on at any time. Now I have strobes that came on my truck when I bought it, and the switch for them is right under where I'm mounting the switch for these new lights. So can I wire this new switch off the power for the old strobe switch?? The strobe system has its own power supply box with a 15amp fuse, running four 55w strobes which I barely use.

Hope i didn't lose anyone , but I appreciate the help!

Well....

I know nobody responded, but i thought I'd give an update, in case someone reads this later on. I got all the wiring hooked up and it worked great. But the next day it rained, and both my lights were fogged up with water. Piece of **** ! So I highly recommend NOT buying optilux branded hellas. They suck, and are on their way back for a refund.
