I just go my 2000 Ranger Trailhead back together from clutch/tranny/engine maintance. The truck started right up but I'm not getting power from the alternator. I pulled the alternator and bench tested it, and it tests fine. I have continuity in the blk/org primary wire up to its ring terminal @ the power distribution box but not past it. I have a feeling the problem might be the 125 amp mega fuse But am not sure how to test it. Should I be getting resistance between the 2 flats of the fuse? What else might I want to check?

There are two ways that you can test the mega fuse. First is to remove it and put one lead on each terminal on the fuse. You should get somewhere close to one tenth of an ohm. Second way to test it is check for voltage going into the fuse and make sure you have voltage coming out of the fuse. No voltage means the fuse is open circuit inside and voltage is not flowing from one terminal to the other. Usually there is a window that you can look through to see the fuse element and whether it is blown or not. Hope that this helps.
